Hey guys....

I was wondering how long 42 Duro (Slow Rezay) Maxxis Highroller 2.7" tires ran as a FRONT ONLY would last?

I ride a LOT of urban, and I also ride TRAILS & drops.

I have some 60 Duro one's on order from Jenson USA.. but they're taking FOR EVER on the 60's .. and have 42's in stock. Should I order up the 42 Duro Slow Rezay.. or should I stick out the wait.. and get the 60 Duro...?

Please help me here... I don't know enough about the tire compounds. All's I've heard is that 42 Duro's grip REALLY good.. but wear faster.. is this true.... and or .. what's the scoop?

Thanks!

-Matt

I have the Minion Super Tacky 42a tires front and rear and they are holding up pretty good. They are wearing faster than the tires I usually run, Nokian Gazzolodis.

But they do grip good.

Oh yea according to the Maxxis website the Slow Rezay compound is 40a.

I was just about to edit my post to say "If I were you I would wait for the 60's. They would be a better, longer lasting tire for you."

I will most likely go with some Minion 60a's or Gazzy's when these wear out.

Since you do a lot of urban I would say don't go any softer then 50 on the compound. I can go through a set of S.R. in one day at Big Bear and the soil there is very soft. They do grip quite well but they wear fast as do the super tackies.
