but the dork disk is period... haha, i kid, the reason its still on there is i cant find my tinsnips, or even a decent pair of scissors

you probably cant tell from the picture but the color actualy has sparkles in it.

No, it looks great. So what are the details? Did you do the powdercoat yourself? What year is the bike? It looks like a 63cm.

I have an 85 520. It's a great riding bike but I need the 63 cm frame as well. I'm riding a 60 cm.

Does that have the Helicomatic hub? I was able to remove the lockring on one just by using a shop rag for grip. My back wheel was bent so I went ahead and got a new wheelset rather than reusing the helico. Might help you remove the dork disk anyway without buying a helico remover tool.

Definitly a cool color!

helicomatic? the hub of the wheel is by a french company called mallard

the story behind this bike is that somone special ordered it at the local bike shop and never came to pick it up so my dad ogt it for cheap a few months later due to its odd size and componentry thats why some many of the components are not whatever trek decided to build their bikes up with in 1985

it is definately an 85 or later. 85 was the first year trek had the seat lug and BB shell (and dropouts too?) with the embossed trek logo.
