looking at the dart series to buy a fork for my mtb. (current fork doesnt move at all, it got screwed big time)

mtbr only had the dart3 listed, but has anybody here owned a rockshox dart? what do/did you think of it?

the dart-3 pictures differ between places like nashbar, jenson, etc ... is the dart-3 compatible with v-brakes or not?? idk guys help me out :(

yes they are v-brake friendly.

ive got a dart 2 on my SS. Pre-load is non-existant. its essentially a spring. HOWEVER, w/ the stiff spring it stays relatively stiff until I hit the big stuff, which is nice. its worth $100 but not much more.

just curious... why a dart?

because my GT essentially has a rigid fork on it and i want a suspension fork, but i dont want to spend a lot of money, i just want to have something on it while i save for a whole new bike.

my guess would be that some guy hopped on his bike and rode off the face of a mountain, then took it to the shop for a complete overhaul after being released from intensive care, and never came back for it. the fork on my bike looks like a bionic pit-bull took a chunk out of one of the drops, seriously. so no suspension for me :-X

thats why a dart. cuz theyre cheap, and i think it might suffice until i can save enough for a jamis durango 2.

You will be fine with a dart, as I said, its not great, but its fine.
