I have a Trek T800(?) with 26x1.95 tires which we use for recreational rides on paths, oranized rides ( ie Bike New York, etc ).

I would like to be able to carry enough on the bike for a long day's ride, so a rack/pack or seatpost rack type thing is what I 'm looking for. Also, we seem to always do these rides in less than ideal weather, so I am considering fenders.

Any suggesions?

Thanks.

I use a seatpost mounted rack made by Amoeba and this carrys a top bag that can take a weight of 15 lbs. Don't know how near I am to the 15lbs on rides but This is used offroad and has been in use for 3 years. On the front fender- This may seem over the top for you but it works. I cannot use the Tight fitting Road type fenders on the trails and Got fed up with stones coming from in front of the conventional downtube mounted ones. This Type of fender stops everything.
