Anyone ride or know about the Fuji Newest 4.0?

Any opinions on these bikes or the brand Fuji?

I have a 2003 Fuji Royale, nice bike, but I have not rode it for over a year, I find with my weight (270lbs) the frame flexes too much, I purchased a Cannondale T800 and haven't gave the Fuji another thought. Its been sitting in the basement ever since I got the Cannondale, maybe when I drop fifty pounds I'll get on it again.

I've not ridden the Newest, but I've put about 10,000 miles on a Fuji Supreme in the past two years. I did have to replace the rear wheel with something more rugged, since the stock wheel wasn't up to my initial weight. There have been no other problems with the bike that weren't simply the result of normal wear and tear. I have to say I am very pleased with the bike and I use it for all sorts of riding from commuting on rough unpaved trails to supported and unsupported touring and it has done it all. Fuji bikes may not be the top drawer model, but they seem to make a very dependable solid bike.

I've been riding Fuji Pro for about two years and love it. Not a flex prob for me at 230 lbs. Any dealer close you can ride one at?
I've got a 1988 Cdale that fits me better than anything I've bought since. I use the measurements from this setup to transfer to my new bikes. Works like a charm, though the lack of flex is pretty brutal on a bad road. (Wonder how bad it will be when I get to 180?)

Hope this helps...

Best, John

I've got a Newest 1.0 and love it... I'm at 270 with no flex problems
Somebody posted on the road forum with the 4.0 so you may PM them. I believe it was either the "under 700" sticky or the "what bike do you ride" sticky within the last six months.

+1 on the stronger wheels, after 60 miles my rear wheel was seriously out of true. I've since learned to ride a bit more gingerly. I wasn't very happy with the conti's either but at that price... well.. it's a great deal.

I do believe the last year's 4.0 has a steel fork and down tube shifters ... not sure about current.

I am 6'1 255 and have been riding an 05 Fuji team triple. I switched out the shimano 550's for a set of Mavic Open Pro's/Ultegra hubs, upgraded the saddle to a Fizik Aliante. My main complaint is that it is stiff, even with a CF rear triange, it beats me up on longer rides. I've got about 2000 miles on the bike with no serious problems, so I'd say that Fuji makes a decent bike for the $$.
