After reading through the Centuries thread, I noticed the Tour of the Hamptons mentioned hosted by the Massapequa Park Bicycle Club. I am a member of that club and I just wanted to add that anyone looking to join a club on Long Island this would be a great one to consider.
They are a most down to earth group that cycles at all different levels, offers both road and mtn biking. Their meetings are also interesting especially this year where they have brought in very interesting speakers with more to come at future meetings.
If anyone is interested: the link to their website is: http://www.massparkbikeclub.org/
It is worth looking into.
