Just found Bike Forums today. Looks like a nice place!

I used to ride a lot back in the 70s and 80s. Career and family took me away from it for a long time. I've always had a bike or two around but didn't do any serious riding for over twenty years. I changed jobs a couple of years ago and the many bikers here have rekindled my interest!

I got into mountain biking last summer because I live in Sulpher Springs Valley between two mountain ranges. I bought a Santa Cruz and got serious again! Mountain biking is great!

At work, there are more roadies than mountain bikers and we ride at lunch, so in the fall I got a Gilmour with Shimano components and have been trying to get into shape to ride The Tour of the Tucson Mountains in late April. I'm up to 150 miles a week, but have a lot of work to do. If I survive that, I'll give El Tour de Tucson a try in November!

My wife has started picking up "old" bicycles at resale shops, etc. and I find that I really enjoy fixing them up! I have a few of the necessary tools, but need to pick up more.

I look forward to getting to know you and learning training, maintenance and more.
