Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

And the answer direct from Strida Customer Service (UK) is:
...this is a strida2 used a part of the Emmy 2000 gift basket. nothing is special, other that it received lots of TLC before shipping. ...
A reserve of 450 is a bit high for a Strida 2, even if it was briefly owned by a celebrity. Might be worth a bit more if there was some indication that it was frequently used and appreciated by said celebrity, but it sounds like a cast off.

Only thing limited aobut a Strida is its weight capacity, comfortable top speed and range. It is lke the Smart 4/2 of bicycles.

On the other hand, a Smart Car or a Strida is sometimes the best tool for the job :)
But bringing this back to the original subject, does anyone here think ANY bike, folding or otherwise, than it's "normal" resale value, for either
1) Having a number tag on it representing a limited series, or
2) Having belonged to a celebrity, however briefly.
Not me. I don't even know who the previous "owner" of this bike is - I don't watch television.
I wouldn't mind having another Strida in the shed (even a mk2), - but not for this seller's reserve of $450. My new Srrida 3 was less than that.
