Are you planning on attending any stage(s) of this year's ATOC? If so, which one(s)? Also, if you were given the means (time off and $$$ :D) to attend the stage of your choice, which one would it be?

I'm attending the Prologue, Finish in Santa Rosa, and Time Trial in Solvang. But my most anticipated stage is the Time Trial in Solvang. This should be the stage that determines the winner. It is the most scenic, easy to watch, with the start and finish only 2 blocks apart. AWSOME! Can't wait!

I'll definitely see some part of stage 6. Maybe ride up from the SFV to the finish in Valencia or...

The Crits are always the best ones to attend. I know they're not everyones favorite format, but as far as entertainment value, crits beat out stage races.

In all reality all bike races are boring as hell. In a crit once they have passed you the 3rd time or so it's all the same till the finish. The best is at the finish of a TT for the last 5 or so riders to see who can knock off each others time.

I dont find em boring, and Im looking forward to cheering at the top of the toughest climb of the tour.:p :p :p The best part is I have to climb up there to cheer em on, plus its my birthday. Im just glad I dont have to watch when the race has been decided.:p Lets face it, by the time it hits long beach, the race is over.

I'll be there. Now I just have to figure out a way to get from my hotel to Ballard Canyon.

AWSOME! Can't wait! If you come to Solvang, be sure to visit the Bulldog Cafe, awesome coffee house, right at the finish line and hangout to many of the teams when they're here training, and for sure after the ITT on the 23rd. Barbara has lots of great cycling pics posted along with some awesome Lance memorabilia, not to mention the "killer" homemade baked goodies.:D

The Best Western Kronberg on the end of Mission. I was at the Royal Scandinavian this past Friday. I'd ride my bike except I'm bringing my girl friend and she doesnt ride. Any ideas? Am I screwed?

Depending on where on Ballard Canyon Road you want to be, you're not too far. You can walk from the Kronborg to the corner of Chalk Hill Rd. & Ballard Cyn. Rd. in 30 min. The roads won't be "sealed" until 10:00 am, so you could always drive up, nail a place to park on BCR and then walk up and down that stretch all day. It's super-countryside there with LOTS of great scenery from buffalo to cattle, to vineyards to windmills. Bring a camera, backpack with goodies to hold you over during the day and be ready for some lightening fast bikes to go past as most of that stretch of the ITT route is downhill. Sweeeeet!:D

I want to be on the top of Ballard right before the descend into the finish. I figure thats one of the few places where they won't be going 30 mph so I can get a better glimpse at everyone. Theres a nice area right at the top by a house thats for sale. Hopefully I can make it there before it gets massively packed.

I know right where that house is. You can make it there on foot easily in 30 min. from the Kronborg. It's about 15 -17 minutes from Solvang School on Atterdag Rd. and that's the final slight, downhill straightaway before the final left turn onto Mission Drive and the finish line at the park. Have fun!:)
