Just received a note from The League of Illinois Bicyclists that Illinois Senate Bill 80 is in the Transportation Committee. It includes 3 ft minimum passing distance, clarifies turn signals and clarifies lane positioning around right turn lanes

i like the wording change that says "practicable and safe" -- that's as enlightened a bill as i've seen in awhile (especially given the IL gov't stance on cycling issues in the past).

SB 80 made it out of the Transportation Committee last week. I'm not sure when it's scheduled to go to the senate for a vote.
