I asked around already and couldn't get any feedback, so here goes... I want to buy the fork ups that change your qr roof rack to 20mm mounts. Here within lies the problem. I drive a two door car, so my racks are only about 20 inches apart. This forbids me from buying the stand up rack b/c there isn't gonna be enough stability for a 50 pound bike. I've got a rear rack too, but I can't lock my bike to it, and the bike is worth more than the car. I need to get this heavy FR bike on the roof, but I don't know if it will be stable enough with the combination of the fork mount adapter, and the short rack base. Has anyone ran in to a similar situation?
