The neurologist said my fainting spell was just a flook and that I can go back to my normal driving and riding activities. As soon as I get over this cold (hopefully this weekend) I'll be doing a ride with a wide smile on my face. Of course, I will be starting out easy, but I plan on doing a century before the year is over. See you guys on the road!!!

Great news... will you be at CSUN this weekend? Or do you think the cold will put you off until next weekend?
Glad to hear you are normal. It is good to have you back again.

As long as I beat this cold completely (I got 2 colds in a row) I'll probably be at CSUN, but I'll be riding with the 1 group for a while.
Glad to hear you are normal.
Now I wouldn't go THAT far. Healthy yes, but normal??? :D

Glad to hear the news! My next couple of weekends are pretty busy but after that I expect to see you out in the Conejo at the shop ride!

Glad you got a clean bill of health. I trust the knee is okay, too? My son and I will be doing the #1 ride this weekend. He's eleven, and so only up to about 25 miles. Even so, it'll be a stretch for him. Glad to ride with ya.

Cool, I'm going to try to get my dad out to a ride this weekend. If he wants to stay in Agoura, we'll just do 2-3 laps around the lake in Westlake. Otherwise, I'll be there on Sat. Are you talking about the ride on Sat or Sun? I usually don't do the Sun rides because I go to church, although I could probably do the #1 ride and be back by 10am right?
And yeah, the knee was apparently just because I jumped into cycling too quickly and overused my knee. It will be a good 6 months or more before I try to climb 3000 feet in 50 miles again.

My family & I go to Grace on Sundays. But, I got home from work tonight, AJ is looking a little under the weather, so we'll see if he's up for Saturday or not. If not, I'll probably do one of the longer 50-70 milers.
Yeah...ease into it slowly re: climbing. I took my own sweet little time and now I'm to a point where I've done the Back To Baldy ride (~5500 ft in 62 miles) and this past weekend did the Val Verde ride (~4100 ft in 66 miles). No knee problems with either. The only knee problems I've had since I started again (August '06) was on the ride we did up to Castaic. That was steep and very windy going, so I didn't have the right gearing--that probably explains it.
Hope to see you Saturday.

Blah, sinus infection. Is someone upstairs trying to keep me off the bike for longer? Hopefully Mon or next Sat.
I'm right with ya, I was planning on riding each day this weekend. Now I'll be lucky to get in the Monday ride.
Fortunately, I caught this one pretty early...

Cold here too
Foiled my plan to get back on the bike after cracking ribs 2 weeks ago.
I sense a conspiracy here
I sense that we should all get together to fight our colds away with tequila...
Heal quickly guys!

Yeah, a conspiracy! Ummm, Tequila makes me very sick, I'll bring some Vodka. After the 3rd or 4th drink, I don't need a chaser!

Alright! Did 10 miles around the MUP. Of course my heart was working overtime (I spend one month off the bike and climbing 1 flight of stairs becomes a chore), but it felt nice to be out again. I'll be working up to longer rides (and some climbing) soon I hope!
Good job!
I was also outside today... on the way to work, and on the way to 'The Ice-Breaker' at the Laguna Playhouse after dinner at Javier's.
hmmm mmmm good!
first time that I have left the house since Saturday morning. dang that felt great.

Just in time for the Balcom ride on Saturday! Just kidding... glad you have started the road back, and we look forward to seeing you out at CSUN soon.
