I'm sitting here looking out of the window with my new Serotta leaning against the wall...we've had 12+ inches of snow today with 45 mph winds...they expect another 4-6 inches this evening...I hate February...Frankp

Same here. My new bike is out in the garage, NEXT TO THE SNOWBLOWER. Of course I used the snow blower today. Driveway was drifted shut when I got home from work.

I rode the last 4 days in a row in less than ideal conditions in preparation for this crap. Man, it's been a tough Winter. :(

The snow has quit and we're now getting sleet. The bike is in the shop getting the new cranks and I'm leaving for Florida in the morning:D I've had enough of the below freezing temps, snow and ice!

Hey Trsnrtr,

I have to come down to Peoria and Springfield tomorrow through Friday. You near there? If so, are the roads totally hosed? Lived in Peoria for a while. Used to ride the Rock Island Trail there all the time.

You'd have to be a really hard core bicyclist to ride in St Louis today. Below freezing temperatures are predicted for the rest of the week so I don't expect road conditions to improve very much through Friday.

Not riding weather here in Kansas either. I want to take my second ride with my clipless pedals that I got for Christmas. On my calendar where I keep track of mileage there are no entries for this year.... YET... can't wait, but I have to.

What Retro Grouch said... Many roads are closed and temps are plummeting. Some road crews may have roads bare enough for riding by Friday, but it would really be hit and miss. Highs for the next three days are 16, 14, and 24F.

BTW, I live about 8 miles SE of Peoria between Morton and Pekin in a little town called Groveland. :)

Yes this global warming thing is depressing. About 2 inches of ice on 6 inches of snow right now. Where is my 22, Punxsutawney Phil watch out.

Too bad you aren't going to Springfield next Mon & Tues, prediction is 45 for both days.

We do not have the extremes of Weather that some of you are experiencing. Plenty of rain- plenty of sun- plenty of warmish weather at around 50 but the bug bear is wind. I cannot remember a winter where the wind seems continual at about 20 to 25mph. Get the occasional windy storm day but what's happened to the gentle breezes blowing the rain clouds down into Europe?

Yep, we have had little snow but lots of cold this winter. But this week, as I get excited about the upcoming cycling season, its snowing daily. So the hope of getting out on the roads here soon seems to be fading away. Plus, its so late in the season, that I had given up on the ski season too.

Yeah, well, you can try to make me feel guilty about our California coastal weather but I don't
So there! :p :D

I'd sure like a little more rain, though. OK, a lot more. No rain makes me nervous.
