I got her a gift certificate at a good massage place, a card, and I'll probably pick up something else small tomorrow.

Do I get her flowers too? Aren't they a bit overdone?? We've been goin out for about 2 months now...

Most girls like getting flowers, even if it's just something small.

Flowers are way too expensive right now. They up the price for Valentines and Mother's day. In all honesty, I am the type that like a single rose that was hand picked out of the yard. More romantic and not so commercial. ;)

And if she is really something, she would not want you to spend so much on her. I would myself would rather have something that was special to that person or hand made. And it doesn't have to be big or expensive. It's just knowing he took the time is what makes it special. The best gifts come from the heart. :)

Haha so I take it that the piece of paper that says "good for one hour of massage" is the worst possible gift?

Most guys would argue that the best gifts come from a bit south of the heart - like from somewhere closer to the Equator. ;)

Sounds to me like his mind was "tainted" long before I happened along. I mean, just because I said what others were thinking . . . . :p

Yes. Get flowers. You could get her a winning lotto ticket, but if you forget flowers she'll never let you forget about it. Trust me.

Flowers are really nice, but for probably less $$ you could get a really nice plant (if she likes houseplants) that would last WAY longer, and would indicate you plan to be around for a while.

Get her flowers, for sure..... but get them on March 5th or some random day when not much is going on.

Flowers out of the blue for no reason at all = Golden!

Flowers are okay on Valentine's Day, but it's just so.... expected. Where's the fun in that?

Shady I like the way you think. ;)

I love getting the gal I'm seeing flowers. Don't do roses - now THOSE are over done. My favorites are orchids, tulips, and stargazer lillies in that order. Orchids can be a pain though as they're expensive and come with the whole live plant in dirt in a pot thing. Girls love flowers period. Jewelry is better but thats a whole other thread. ;)
