There is a video on a webpage that uses windows media player and downloads it to where if I scroll to another section in the video, it buffers, and downloads from there. Well how can I absorb it so to say and save it as a file so I can watch it on a presentation and don't need the internet? Thanks.

Save as in the Media player? Save to your videos?

Those types of videos (asx is a common extension) are not intended to be saved, however there are third party tools that can do it. Here is an example:
