how do you skid with the back of the bike angled to the side?
is it called fishtailing?
i see ppl doing it and then bring the back of the wheel back and continue riding
and is there a specific leg that needs to be back for a specific side?
Ehh.... hmm. That's kind of like asking someone how to whistle. You just know how, if you know how. Not trying to talk down to you... it's just hard to explain step by step how. I think a lot of us grew up riding BMX bikes and/or being general hooligans on bikes as kids so tossing them around comes naturally. It's one of those things I wouldn't try anywhere other than an empty lot or something if you don't feel comfortable.
I personally find it more comfortable sliding the back end toward whichever side has my leg at the 'back'
I don't know if that is something that I ever really try to do. It just sort of happens. I think when you lean forward enough and skid the back end tends to just swing towards your rear foot after a while.

get comfortable skidding.
then, try to turn while skidding.
then, do it a hundred more times.
then, get comfortable doing it.
then, go from there.
that's what i did and it worked for me.
This basically happens when you lean or steer while skidding. It's easiest to learn with a coaster brake or a rear caliper, and it is scary at first. Its usefulness is dubious, but it can be fun.

Yeah, I just sort of turn lightly while I skid, but you continue pointing your head and shoulders forward and then the bike will come back around straight. If you want to do a 180/U Turn skid, turn your head and shoulders and look behind you as you skid. Works like a charm, but U turns are a bit hard when it's not wet / slippery out.
']you skid with your mouth?
Well I mean.. I've been practicing but I'm no expert yet.

jchou701 idiotic thread that could have been answered with a search #98723 has left the docks...
165, I know you thought a couple of this kid's threads were ok, but this is getting ridiculous. Can you at least rename this one something meaningful?
It's a combination of leaning to the side, steering, and varying the weight on the rear wheel. I remember it just happened one day and I haven't looked back since. Just like puberty-- you'll get there.

umm. look at videos 1st. Mashsf.com has a good one (2nd vid). when you've mastered skidding (holding) use your legs to push the back wheel to the sdang this is hard to explain. another vid is this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MLd3IXPGEtQ. when i 1st saw it done i freaked out cuz it was so cool. very useful, i think, but if cars are behind you when doin it, i think it freaks the driver out. also be good at trackstanding with BOTH sides as this will allow you to be comfy with the swing of things and you will be aware of your balance more. practice safe and have fun
