Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Girl Scout Cookie Time

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Confession time. Who has had their hand in the cookie jar lately?
I admit, I embraced a box of Samoas this week. Who can resist coconut, chocolate, butter creme and a cookie crunch? Heck, why don't we sprinkle some almonds on top and call it, "Heaven on a Wafer"? Damn you Troop 489!

I've been GS cookie deprived the past couple years cuz my co-workers daughters outgrew the scouts. Prior to that, they were my only source of GS cookies. I miss the samoas.

My gf gave me a big box of chocolate covered strawberries. Evil. Really tasty, but evil.

Where are all of you getting these tempting morsels? I sent Sammilove out with strict instructions to bring me back a box or two and he claims that he could not find a single Girl Scout selling cookies on the East Hill.
Sammilove is a man of honour and would never lie! But I still find it hard to believe that the Girl Scouts did not flood Puget Sound with cookies...:(

I think Samoas have the highest fat content of all GS cookies. No wonder they taste so good! ;)
This past week I ate a Reeses chocolate-covered peanut butter heart a kindergartener gave me. Hershey kisses, other heart shaped chocolates that others offered me (and said they were so delicious), I turned down. I had hoped to be under 200 pounds by Valentine's Day, but I injured my back 2 weeks ago and stopped exercising, took meds, and altered my diet, but now I am back on track and at 203 lbs this morning so hope to be out of the Clyde club by the end of next week.

Apparently I'm in the minority here, but I think Girl Scout cookies are an institutionalized ripoff. If I'm going to eat a cookie it's going to be a good one, not some oversweetened chunk of artificial flavors and preservatives even if it IS sold by a cute 11-year-old girl. I'll grant that it's for a good cause, but they're lousy cookies and they're wildly overpriced.

I give my niece twenty dollars and tell her to do with it what she wants.
My assistant asked me to buy some and same thing... "Here's twenty, I don't want the cookies."
Only later did I find out they have sugar free brownies now.

I just tell them all "My name is Ben, and I'm a fataholic. Please don't support my habit."
It works. And they look at me funny. Bonus!

It gets worse (or better), if you have Edy's Grand Ice Cream in your area. They make Girl Scout Cookie ICE CREAM. Comes in Tagalong, Samoas, and Thin Mints. STewmeister, I know it's here in Atlanta, so hit Kroger or Publix. Everybody else out there, get some while you can - it's a limited time thing that comes around every year.
Talk about death in a bowl!!! Damn you Type II!!! :)

That is truly hitting below the belt.
I still haven't found anyone selling the things locally. I suppose I should be grateful for small favours.

I just donate 20 bucks to the local troop selling them. Yes they are raising money for thier troop but they are also raising money to pay the top brass of the organization. This way I don,t have to deal with the empty calories and I've helped out the local club.

I am safe - safe I tell you! They can't get to me here - no they can't!!!
Sniff - I miss cookies - the ones here are very, very sad. Probably why I have lost 30+ lbs.
Yeah but you gotta admit...a box of Samoas and a huge glass of milk make for a pretty good dinner. :D
I actually bought 5 boxes from the troop, I donated 4 to people around me who work for an honest living, ate a few Samoas, and then gave away the rest. It is not about the cookies-It is about keeping a good tradition alive.

Does anybody remember the wonderful line form the Adams Family movie? Where The daughter (Wednesday, I think) is asked if she would like some Girl Scout Cookies, and she asks in return, "Are they made with real Girl Scouts?"! That just knocked me out.
Samoas are my favorite. Actually anything with coconut will do just fine. This is in honor of my son-in-law who is from American Samoa and is a really great guy.
