Foo - Mods...How much cleanup is there?

For the most part Bikeforums.net is pretty well cleaned up and free of spam and other junk. What most of us don't see is how much effort is required for this to be the case. How much clean up on isle 9 is there?

Well, we just added 3 more mods. Does that give a hint?

Actually now that the spam has been slain by better code, the workload on the mods have actually gone down some, but on the flip side this is the "off season" where people often get bored, cabin fever sets in, and go looking for entertainment.

If you're looking for numbers like avg number of reports sent in, number of edits made, threads locked/trashed, and of course members warned/banned then I'll say that it varies widely. Some days are quite quiet, some days it seems like we're doing all we can to throw what water we can on the fires just in time for another hot spot to pop up.

This community, by and large, are absolutely great. I've enjoyed getting to know many more of you since starting my duties as mod. Even most of those who feel that they should have a wider latitude of freedom in some of their posts are interesting and good people. Sometimes they make good points, sometimes we just have to explain that if they want to play they have to play by the rules.

One is assigned to follow me around with a backhoe and an industrial can of Lysol at all times. Sometimes, if things are slow, they double team me, which makes me kinda feel special, like Ray Lewis. ;)

Chipcom's detachment consists of the person who drew the short straw at the last mod meeting. The next longest straw gets all of A&S, P&R and SS/Fixed all to themselves. ;)
