Hey everyone,

After I got my slicks and the needed accessories installed, I took some pictures of the bike for you guys to see. Other than the slicks, I added a pump, tube carrier and my Cateye Tomo. The photos are rather large, but I'm on 56k and viewing them, so don't worry.

This is a shot of the entire bike. Yes, I do have a kickstand, but what are you going to do about it? (http://www.towernine.net/bikephotos/wholebike1.jpg)

A closeup of the front wheel only. Gives a good view of the tire, and you can see the magnet and receiver for the Tomo. (http://www.towernine.net/bikephotos/frontwheel1.jpg)

And finally, a shot of me riding the bike in my driveway. Yes, I am small (5'1" (without shoes) and 102 lbs.). (http://www.towernine.net/bikephotos/riding1.jpg)

Well, you guys probably aren't interested, but that's my Trek 4100 for you.

Shane

I've got a wrench. Kiss that kickstand goodbye!:D

But seriously, enjoy your ride.

Just put a new kickstand yesterday. Very conviniet to live it standing anywhere...

Good bike should have a kickstand!
If not, it's a THROW AWAY bike...

Nice bike. Kind of neat seeing slicks on it. I have a kickstand on my KHS also. I like standing it up. I am a little taller than you, and about more than twice as heavy, anybody gives you gruff about da kistand, tell 'em to see da Terminator, he has a kickstand too! ;) - Ted

I noticed mine was a little loose today, have you been messing with it while I was in the outhouse at the trail? - Ted

That's one of the problems with kickstands... they're yet another thing that tends to work its way loose only to drag on the ground, snag things or pop into places it has no right popping into. Having had one that swung itself into my spokes, I'll probably never use one again.

Trek4100, what road slicks are those and do you like them?? I just put a set of Kenda Kwest's on mine and love them.

Thanks everyone! zman, I actually just went in to the LBS and asked for the skinniest slicks they could put on the Trek and came out with these on! But I will check for you once I finish writing this paper for school.

are those tires 1.15" or 1.38"?

same thing with my trek4500. I replaced the suspension forks with an aluminum(non-suspension) fork. replaced the rims with columbus aero rims... the front spokes are aero, less resistance... Put 1.38" tires... Replaced the Chainwheel with a 52T/42T to make it go faster... Replaced the stem and headset... Replaced the seatpost with an alien... replaced the rear derailuer with shimano 105 along with 12-27 cogs..

I use this bike for training and workouts, and to scout new routes...

Nice bike! :D

Things I would do:

Get rid of the chain shield on the rear cog
Upgrade to an XT drivetrain once your stuff wears out
Get some RaceFace cranks
A new set of ATAC/SPD pedals
Take off the wheel reflectors (unless you ride at night a lot)
Get a lighter, slicker Selle Italia saddle
