Foo - This snow is crazy!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I haven't seen snow quite like this in a long time. It seems more like concrete or sandstone than snow. To clear it you have to smack it with something hard, like a sledgehammer, and then carry away the chunks.
Three shovels down so far. Four if you count my 5 year old son's shovel :)

Yeah the lack of this year! :(
We can't seem to buy a decent snow. Plenty cold with single digits and at times minus temps. But no damn snow!

Yea, shoveling my father's property was a pain. Only 3-4 inches but probably the hardest 3-4 inches I've ever shoveled.
I drove my fathers 4 wheel drive jeep over it to break some of it up, then a small steel shovel back and forth across the width to break up the remaining bits, then the wide snow shovel to clear all the broken up pieces.

yeah, we're mostly ice around here too.
people are complaining because they can't move their cars (iced in) but are getting parking tickets from the city. makes me glad i don't have to deal with a car. what a huge burden.

You mean that Canadian rapper from the late 80's early 90s with that funky accent?

Happy Spring, Tom! From my backyard to your wistful, snow-blinded eyes. :D
[This pic from this morning, so you get some idea for long they've been out. ;)]
[Edit: these are volunteers, as they were never planted there! Same with one of the three crape myrtles on that side of the house!]
Crepe Myrtle, Abelia and Daffodils!

i didn't know you live in tinnesee
I've got bulbs coming up in western Oregon, too. Small purple iris, crocus, daffodils getting ready to pop, camelias blooming, decorative plum trees and tulips probably blooming early march. Unless we get some strange weather, we already had our blast of winter last month, and spring is on its way...

Mmm. Camelias. <sniffin' from memory> When I was outside on my deck having lunch, I noticed this. My first forsythia bloom this year! :D I suspect I'll be pruning it in the few weeks, given the great weather cranking up here!
