Fifty Plus (50+) - I am now of "Legal Age"!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I turned 50 a few weeks ago. So, I may not post here "legally". :D
So, I am expecting two things to arrive very shortly:
1. My stuff to join the AARP. I want my discounts, dammit!
2. The 25 year old girlfriend. Although someone told me that you only get that if you're rich. Is that right?

I think you meant: "may NOW post here legally".
1) You mean you haven't gotten them already?
2) Yes, you usually need to be rich. (However, if you can fake it convincingly you might have some fun for awhile...)

Haven't you heard the theory of age conservation? For proper balance you need two 25 year old girlfriends.
Welcome to the other side of the half-century hill...fifty up and fifty down, course the down means that we are coasting all the way. enjoy

Ones enough thankyou- Or it was for me 35 years ago.
Welcome by the way, and if anyone talks about it is all downhill from here on- You still have to work at it until Gravity takes over.

You're already a disappointment, trackhub.
When you said that you were of legal age I was hopeing that you'd be female.

Cut the poor guy some slack. He's spent a lot of time on the Singlespeed and Fixed Gear forum. It's a big adjustment from hanging with those young hipsters. :)

We have recently learned that one's chances of getting women are enhanced if you shave your legs.
Many of us are awaiting verification of these claims from famed researcher Jet "Sleek Legs" Travis, who has been sent out to gather data.

Several posters on this forum have 25 year old girlfriends. They call them "Schwinn", "Colnago", "Bianchi".

Welcome, track.
PS: they lied. You only get another day older, and deeper in debt.

I do ride a fixie, but I run a brake on both wheels. This seems to aggravate the Young-uns. They talk about something called "sweet jumps" a lot too. I don't have a clue as to what that might be. Something involving a pogo stick maybe? :D
Tom Bombadil, I can tell you that having "clean" legs is something that many (not all) women like, a lot. :D
But, as I mentioned in the thread on this, it's a fair amount of extra work.

I'm using USA Cycling age rules which go by the year only, not the full date. By USCF, I'm 50. It's a cycling forum, so that's good enough for me!

You are as old as your kids make you feel. Our youngest is married - that makes me a lot older than those of you who started with the family late. Admit it - you didn't start to mature (i.e. get older) until you were married and had a family.
I rest my case. (and almost 48 in real years)
Oh, trackhub, welcome to Geezerhood.
Welcome, you'll have fun!

That's already happening. Since I now have a good dose of "Salt and pepper" hair, (more salt than pepper) I have noticed that I can wander all over places like Best Buy, and not be bothered by the blue-shirts. Cops in their 20's have been calling me "sir" for some time. Heh-heh. They have no idea,,,,:D And I cannot explain it, but I seem to be getting better service at places such as banks.
I'm having trouble with some things though. What the heck is "Abercrombie and Fitch?"
