Depends on how good the first muffin was. I had a damn good one and wouldn't settle for anything less.

My friends had average ones, they decided to start hitting up any muffin that came across their plate.

Then now you eat them is so delightful... you toast 'em up slowly so they're nice and hot all the way to the insides... you peel off their wrapper gently and slide it off... crack 'em open and slather globs of butter all over before devouring.... yummm... :)

Depends on what kind you have. Marie Calenders has these crazy good muffins with tons of icing on top. Those are like an orgasm in my mouth. But then there's crappy muffins like poppy seed muffins, those taste funny. Get what I mean?

Some of my neighbors might disagree. They like being friends with muffins but prefer "hard candy type things" as BDG said, if you get my drift.

My first muffin was a straight up Ho-Ho, not a muffin at all like I had expected. Though it was pleasant, I was determined to find the right one.
After a dozen more, with varying flavors... blueberry, strawberry, cream cheese, and one that had the odd taste of ripe tomatos, I finally settled on one of those mini-muffins with a flavor that never seems to get old.
Almost all muffins are satisfying to some extent. Just be careful of the ones that turn out to be King-Dongs when you take the wrapper off, that can get...just plain uncomfortable.

I like muffins, I really do, but whenever I have them around me I end up with depression, anxiety attacks, and a generally screwed up life. I've been muffin-free since April 2002. Life is good.:)

Here's what Piet Hein Jongbloet et al have to say on the topic in the beginning of the abstract to their scientific paper "The secular trends in male:female ratio at birth in postwar industrialized countries"


Finnish investigators presented the sex ratio of all newborn babies from 1751 to 1997 in order to evaluate whether Finnish long-term data are compatible with the hypothesis that the decrease in the ratio of male to female births after World War I and World War II in industrial countries is caused by environmental factors. They found an increase in the proportion of males from 1751 to 1920, which was interrupted by peaks in male births during World War I and World War II and followed by a decrease thereafter, similar to the trends in many other countries.
