Classic & Vintage - Joining the 20th century - I have a website

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
It's pretty simple and there's not a whole lot on it but why not. I have most of my collection up there and if you check the Misc page you'll find a whole bunch of photos I took at a LBS of their spiffy collection.

Your link doesn't appear to be working, cinco.

Poo. It's working on my end.... This is what I get for messing with free hosts.

We'll see if anyone else chimes in. It's definitely not working on my end, though.

It worked for me, and I like you silver Nishiki International. I had one back in 73 with a much larger frame. The bike took a good bit of abuse and stood up well. I always regretted not spending a few more dollars and getting the next model up. Mine lost its decals about 6 months after I got it.
Thanks all for the kind words. I was hoping I wouldn't get drummed out of here because of my philosophy or my puny collection and I'm kinda pleased I haven't been :D.
I still can't figure out why East Hill had trouble... does she live in China or something ;)?

Worked for me, too. I like your site, I only looked at the Carabela (you're correct on the jist of it: it's a product of Acer-Mex, makers of Windsor, just another brandname for mostly the same bikes) and the Nishiki (I think the Kokusai came with a similar 3-arm Maxy crank, but with straight angles, not this "rounded" style, and that was the predecessor to the International...Nishiki experts may now correct me) and Nishiki were typically outfitted with non-Shimano components...they belonged to the Maeda/SR/Sanshin family.

My Nishiki was made the year after they dropped the Kokusai name. It had SunTour VGT with stem mounted power shifters. I never liked the stem location but loved the Power Shifters. Mine had the Maxy but I can't recall if it was straight or angled. The one thing I didn't like was the heart shaped braze on that kept the cable stop for the shifters from sliding. Hey, I was 15. It probably wouldn't bother me now.
