Im thinking about going to school at University of WV, but I dont know much about the area. Has anyone ever been there, or maybe attended the school? From google earth WV looks like all small hills and valleys. Clemson on the other hand looks nice n hilly too and the school is ranked higher, but I feel WV is more for me.

They don't call WV the Mountain State for nothing! Steep hills and coal trucks!
Plenty of good riding in WV, both road and mountain. I absolutely love it here.

There is a reason that the unofficial motto of WVa is "almost flat"!

If someone could pick WV up by the edges & shake it out, it would probably be bigger than Texas... But, anyway, WVU is a good school, and Morgantown is a nice little place. Lots of hiking & biking people, great mountain biking (check out www.wvmba.com), and winter stops by here & there. It's here now, but will be somewhere else next week. If you don't like the WV weather where you're at in WV, just go 5 miles away for some different weather. Friendly people, curvy roads, and empty interstates. Come on up & join us!

West Virginia is the best kept secret in the lower 48. You get real remote real quick. I married into it and if there are better* people on Earth, I haven't met them yet [tho' the Navajo come close]. Mind you, take the bit about coal trucks to heart along with the general lack of bicycle-awareness. . .lots of blind curves.
>>> From google earth WV looks like all small hills and valleys.
By Rockies standards they're "small", but more than compensated for by the fact that there're tens of thousands of "small" intimate nooks and crannies [knobs, hollows, and swales in the WV vernacular]. Orgasmic greens in Summer. . .blinding yellows in Fall. . .endless browns in Winter. . .and Spring is a rebirth like nowhere else on Earth. You at least owe yourself a look-see and then DON’T TELL ANYONE ELSE!!!
* - I’m not particularly religious but I met Our Lord there once. . .in a pickup truck.
Cthulhu lives in WV!?!?!

One thing about WV, EJ......
You buy land on the 2 for 1 plan! If you buy an acre, you get 2! The reason fir this is the acre is stood on edge and you get both sides of the same acre!:D
The thing you have to watch though is those native WV ladies, one leg is shorter than the other so they can walk the hills!:p :D

>>> them things are hollers, not hollows
Absolutely!! History didn't much bother with them after they settled there and Elizabethan forms of the King's English still soldier on. My mother-in-law never gets "rid" of anything. . .she's "shed of it", only it sounds like "shut of it". And of course, a stream wider than 10 feet and less than 30 feet is a. . .wait for it. . ."crick".

Since when did cricks have to be wider than 10 feet???
I guess the best way to get to WVU is either to fly or drive from pittsburg.
Cripes, you can spit from P'burg to WV!

WVU is probably about an hour from Pittsburgh.
And, the reason there are alot of fat people in WV is so they don't get hurt rolling down the hills into the criks.

Coyote stole my words... the longer people keep ragging on WV, the longer it'll stay a secret (and that's a good thing, IMO). Don't know much about the northern part of the state, but he southern and southeastern part of the state are all that. This baby (http://www.bikemountainmama.homestead.com/) is my favorite century, bar none. The warning at the bottom says it all.

Weldman - Bergoo?
Coyote - re 'shed of it' - you know, I always thought they were saying 'shunt of it'. Thanks for the translation; I've only been here 18 years.
