they cater to a "higher level" of clientel. they are an orbea, cervelo and pinarello dealer. they also do personalized triathalon and other training.

I've been to just about every shop within reach, but I have never heard of these guys. Address? I am close enough that I think I could probably cruise over during a lunch time. After 20 years of cycling and hundreds, if not thousands, of shops I can give you my impression. What about them are you wanting to know?

they're on 5th street on the south side of naperville north h.s.

i'm really interested in the orbea but i'm not sure about the owner. i'm a noob to cycling and i definitely felt like one after talking to him this last time. he actually turned me away from the shop and told me i just needed to buy a hybrid, which they don't sell.

Just checked out their site. http://www.endureitsports.com/home/index.php Not exactly the shop that I would walk into as a Newb. By saying that you "need a hybrid"....they are conveying their sales mindset.

They appear to be a multi-sport shop that is geared towards competition. If you're just looking to get into riding for fitness and hobby then there are many other shops in the region that might better suit your needs.

Luckily there are a lot of shops in the area. Many choices. What kind of riding do you do, want to do, and what in particular is steering you towards an Orbea?

yep, the orbea onix tdi with campy mirage guppo is about as low-end as they go. $2k is a low end bike for them.

i'm looking at cf or cf/alum bikes for road and path riding at $2k or less. i'm leaning more towards a cross bike or a relaxed road bike with clearance for 28's.

Off the top of my head a Giant OCR comes to mind. You can get it in Al or Carbon. Easy clearance for 28's and relaxed goemetry. You can snag one, with better components than a Mirage group (not that Mirage is bad or anything) for sub $2K....at least the last time I checked anyway.

There are a lot of options in your range. Nothing against the shop you mentioned, but there are a lot of others that can be checked out first.

Now more importantly you need to keep your eyes open for BFNIC (Bike Forums Northern Illinois Chapter) rides. Lots of us in the area. Makes for good company

wow this shop is hard core elite!! i am plenty familar with Naperville and this is the first i have heard of it. 4000 sq feet of store, a pool, a lounge, bikes, VO2 testing, online coaching, swill lessons, wifi, and a coffee bar!! pretty cool. i like the idea, but it is pricey.
