I am looking at the Raleigh rush hour and on the website I see that they have an 06 and 07 model.
I've heard many good things about this fixed bike, but I don't know much about spec. Can anyone help me decide which is the better model, and also do you know if the price is equally the same?

i recall reading the steel on the 06 was a little higher quality.....? look into that if it matters to you. also i noticed on an 06 i saw that stickers were over the clear coat. look into that if it matters to you.

I got the 07 about a month and a half ago. Yeah, the tubing on the 07 is reynolds 525 i think, and so the decals are under the clear coat. Mine also came with an 18 tooth cog and 165 cranks (I have the 53cm). I don't know if this is standard or just some sort of anomaly. If you really want to take off the decals go with the 06, but if you don't care so much go with the 07. I'm not sure about pricing but I seem to remember one store that told me that the 07 was $25 or $50 more expensive, but i went to a different shop and got it for way cheaper.

why......why hasnt this bike been pimped yet? every one i see looks like crap. and i think its a great looking frame, it just needs a bit of love and taste to make it pop.

Man I hadn't even thought of looking at the decals on my 07 until just now. Bogus. What am I gonna do when I can afford to take them off?

ak1, I have a 53cm as well and it also came with and 18t cog, but on the website it says 16t freewheel, 15t fixed (I don't know about the cranks) so I don't know. Maybe we got lucky?

yeah, I was pretty stoked. I had already bought a surly 18t but I was able to return it. I'm pretty sure the freewheel is still 16t. My cranks say 165 on the inside of the right one, so I assume they're 165s but I haven't actually measured it.

As far as the decals go, I guess I'd rather have the better tubing with the decals under the clear coat. Black electrical tape seemed to do the trick.

the '06 comes with a 16t freewheel and 15t cog, and it looks like lower quality tubing, it's listed as "custom butted cromoly". Oh, and it comes with 172.5mm cranks. I'm kind of curious to ride a '07 to see how much of a difference the tubing makes in the ride, if any (I have an '06).

Does count as pimped?

if i rode on the track, the rush hour pro is mad awesome i say... i have friends who love their 06's, had heard stories or stripping the stock hubs threading (but thats always a possiblity)... if the 06s are still around, you can probobly order from your lbs for cheaper than the 07, i say go for 06. plus it makes it seems like youve had it longer.

There is a guy in New Haven who has one that is super-nice... he put a blue steamroller fork on it (the stock fork is the ugliest IMHO), bullhorns, and it looks awesome.
