Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What exactly do you like about the taxidermy forum? What do you find hard to use about this format?
(moving to suggestions and feedback forum).

A forum for taxidermy issues???!!!
To each their own, I guess, but that forum looks much more complicated than this one. I like being able to see right there who started the thread, the last poster, and number of views/replies. In my opinion this is the best and most easy to use forum out there.:)

Personally I like the layout of this site as it is. I don't want to see it changed in anyway.

What I liked about the taxidermy forum is you can scroll threw every posting without changing categories...Its all taxidermy talk..just like this forum is all bicycle talk anyway...why not just lump everything together?
What I do not like about this site is too many threads...just lump it all together...thats what I think

This forums follows a standard layout of 99% of the forums on the web and is definately the most popular style of standard. to change it would just be wrong :(

I generally like it the way it is. There are a few cosmetic improvements I'd like to see, like lighter backgrounds everywhere, and especially in this box, but overall that's very minor.
Now, one major improvement I would like is the use of real names instead of nicknames. I know that people can hide behind a name (especially if one's name is John Smith), but it adds a more personal touch.

If I was re-registering I would certainly go with my real name.

I don't want our forum to look like one about taxes
Accounting is so boring. :D
I like this site just how it is.
Don't change a thing, please.

I used to belong to a forum in the mountain bike site, then they switched the software without warning, everyone got mad and left. Change is bad. Let's keep the current format, I like it.

I would never want that. I like having aliases and handles :)

I would too. Future option for the forums, maybe?
So no, my name isn't "mgagnonlv", you have my real name, Michel Gagnon in the signature.
The problem with "log ins" is that one needs a unique name, and in most cases, the name must be one word, without spaces, etc. Looking at other user names like "Koffee Brown" or "Joe Gardner", I now can see that the Bikeforums software allows more possibilities for user names. I didn't know before registering, however.
As to why not Michel Gagnon? It's a very common name in Québec, probably equivalent to John Smith elsewhere in Canada and in U.S. Let's say that if one tries to register a Hotmail or Yahoo account with "MichelGagnon", one is typically offered something like "MichelGagnon22". My username therefore comes from MGagnon, and the last two letters are initials from my wife's name. Easy for me to remember.
Now you know.
Regards,
You can change your username. Just PM Joe. I changed mine. I like my username now....

Koffee I know I could change my username but I don't want to forever end up as 'Rodney Olsen' (formerly known as MediaCreations) :D
So what was your original username?
My original name was my real name.
So I changed it.
Koffee (the poster formerly known as X) ;)

Luv it!
I like the way you've being doing things, Joe, gradual changes with some input from the users.
Re: user names, I didn't realize when I joined that the name could be unique, and aerobat was my email address at that time, so that's what I used. I'm not sure if I would have used something different or not, had I known.

I tried changing my user name for a while last year. Somehow being "Fatal Justice" wasn't quite the same, although it might have been the temporary change of avatar at the time (does anyone remember that stupid looking "mouth of the south" pic?). I think I'll stay as Chris L for the time being.

Here's another vote in favor of the current format. It's hands down the very best I've seen. :)
