Has anybody here purchased, sold, or knows anybody who has on eBay before? My grandparents are trying to sell their house to buy a much smaller condo. It's much less to maintain, they really are not capable of doing all of it anymore since it's 2 acres of land. So buying a condo means less to worry about and money left over to have fun with. ANyways, I was wondering if anybody has any comments about house listings on ebay? Positive or negative experiences? I believe they've already got a realtor on it, but I thought extra exposure that I know ebay offers might not hurt.
I don't know if ebay house sales targets the high or the low end market, but their estate was appraised before being listed and 375k was the value.

If they have a realtor on the job, I would skip e-bay. If exposure is your intent, CraigsList would be a better bet (with no fees, either!). Their best bet, exposure-wise, would probably be a multiple listing.
Geez, I'd imagine the shipping would KILL you. :D
Not to mention the insurance & all that packing!

If you read the fine print on e-bay fees, you would run away screaming!!!

Thats the first thing I thought of. I didn't read up but I'm sure ebay will get more than their fair share.

A lot goes into selling a house. Stick with the realtor.
