Hi all, this past summer I built a small teardrop camper to pull behind my car. I want to carry a MNT bike with me camping. I would like to have the bike mounted North/South down the length of the tounge, I would like to just bolt Yakima 1117 clips to the tounge and carry it that way.

I need to be able to remove both wheels and stow them in the camper as I travel (due to tounge length). My question is-can I use the 1117 mounts on both the fork and the rear tire mount points. Am I going to have problems getting both points into the mounts at the same time?

New here and would appreciate any suggestions.

No. Those "blockheads" are spaced at 110mm for front forks. Rear dropout spacing starts at 120mm for track, single speed, and coaster brakes and go up to 145mm for touring tandems. You may be better off mounting a roof rack tray to the top of the camper.

A rather neat trick is to use a riser block the width of your rear drop-out and use a nut and bolt to secure and pivot the front into the standard front fork mount. It would be easy to weld up the riser block and you will need the height to clear the rear derailer hanger anyways, you may actually wish to use only one bolt or pin to the rear to allow you to pivot once its bolted in.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the heads up on the issues. Maybe I can come up with something that will work.
