Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

so, i'm stuck at work today, while she has the day off. i was bummed to say the least. but, i get this email just a few mintues ago:
"Just got back from the store. Here's the menu for this evening:
A whole roasted chicken with a dijon-honey glaze with homemade stuffing, roasted with veggies and red, blue and regular potatoes. And a salad. Plus, a little special dessert!!!!!
And I'll wash your bike clothes :-)"

you're off too!!! damn.
anyway, she probably isn't using a recipe. like almost all our meals we just improvise as we go along. both of us love to cook, and we actually have been known to fight over who gets to make dinner. loser has to do dishes.

Tim, don't ever marry her. She's perfect the way she is.
What time should I be over for dinner?
timmhaan
02-19-07, 10:27 AM
yeah, i've been putting my lycra in the dryer for years. actually, i put everything in the dryer regardless of the instructions. i haven't ruined anything yet. :)
jyo - we'll be eating around 7ish. bring your bike clothes - we'll get them washed for you while you dine.

Well, for one, I haven't had a working dryer in about 8 years. But even if I did, I follow the label's advice. I don't dare risk messin' up the fit, or my chamois. Would result in unhappy bits!
Besides, they air-dry rather quickly. :)
 jyo! :D You have learned well from Vega-look-master. <serious Vega look>

My wife just brought our 5 year old to eat lunch with me. It was the best lunch I have had in a long time.

Isn't that what woman are supposed to be doing?
Thankfully, some men would rather have their women's hands covered in chain lube than cooking oil. :D
Much more fun to get dirty in the garage then go inside and heat up a frozen meal. Or help some kid at Arby's earn $6 an hour for college.

Um.....why not?
I've been washing my bike clothes (jerseys and lycra pants) in normal wash and dryer for a few years and never had a problem.
The dryer makes it stay not as stretchy as long. Might still work, but really fits better without the dryer time.

Interesting....I've never had a problem.
Then again, I'm probably a tad smaller than when I bought them so I may not have noticed.

I know he's just sharing...but I'm jealous.
The only romantic thing to happen to me this week involved a NFL cheerleader text-messaging me from the All-Star game in Vegas to plan a get-together. Not even sure if it means anything. But she did end an email with "Spring is coming...wassup?". Can any of you lovely intelligent ladies translate that into man-speak for me please?:) Thanks.

not sure that I fall into the lovely or intelligent category, but speaking as a lady, I'd say that she's interested. Why bother contacting you if she wasn't? You DO realize, don't you, that you have to tell us the story of how you met said cheerleader?

Liz...you fall into all the above, honey. Grrr.
Now here's the deal:
A web designer was at my booth for an upscale B-day party of a client. He said that I "had to meet the most awesome woman" that he referred to as his "future wife".
He was just showing her off, but maybe introduced her to the wrong person?
The good thing is that there was none of that "fall in love at first sight" crap that tends to ruin a relationship. I was seeing somebody at the time. In fact, my girl was with me when I met her, and I introduced them to each other. Two years later, and we might actually go out.
I might be crazy, but it seems men are more attractive to women when we aren't drooling and making booty calls every 5 min. The less I pay her attention, the more receptive she is. She is ICE COLD to other men.
She has crazy respect for me. I hope we have fun together and remain close friends.
But this ain't about me. It's about Tim, his awesome girlfriend and the blue potatoes.

i think this is true. when i was single and looking for victims to go out with me, it was really hard. i must of have given off the 'i would like to sleep with you' vibe.
since i've had a GF for a few years, i've talked to so many more women than when i was single.
So what was the bad news that she did all that?
timmhaan
02-20-07, 09:26 AM
well, the cat did barf on the sofa...but that wasn't the bad news. i guess she just did it because she wanted to...weird, huh?

you gotta try 'em. they're smaller and more dense than a regular idaho one. good for stewing or roasting.
