I had a chance to tag along with a group of riders yesterday and show them some of the hidden jewels at a local park.

WARNING: The following contains some climbing footage that might be offensive to some riders.

It also contains a bunch of slow speed techy stuff so if you're looking for high speed bombing just surf over to CNN and read the latest Anna Nicole corpse custody story instead.

Those trails would be murder on my cross-country ski equipment.

Enjoyed the video as well. Really enjoy your choice of music, too. I'd never heard that Ape Drape song.

This movie sucks, fantastic work! Great quality, lots of angles, and a solid soundtrack. I really enjoy your varied line selections, they keep it interesting.

That gnarly switchback sequence around minute 2 sucked really bad. :)

Nice video! The video flows very nicely even with the not so flowy riding.

Great techy trails too.

I don't know whether you did or not.

Video often flattens terrain a great deal, unless you're shooting from a very low angle (i.e. not helmetcam).

I have some video from the ride that wasn't used (climbing) where I'm fully red-ringered and barely maintaining traction/keeping the front wheel down and it looks like I'm riding on a flat, mellow trail.

Also, my helmetcam footage is typically much less bouncy/shaky/epileptic than many other vids so the roughness of the trail surface can be deceiving.

So I guess that yes, you missed some tech stuff.

Enough with the "my dog ate it".:D

I was just kidding anyway. I would love to have trails like that 'round here.

Good vid dude.

Well ****. I now know where I want to live if whistler ever falls to ****. Some of those lines just look like fun. Kind of eroded, but fun still. I doubt my climbing would up to snuff but I would work on it :)

As usual good work, you really should consider making a full production film or at the very least making a helmet cam segment on a full production film. I have not seen a helmet cam scene worht its beans in any movie yet.

cheers

Very nice. Very reminiscent of our terrain around here; just swap pine and fir for the scrub oaks. Looks like fun.

EDIT - - I kept bracing myself waiting to get my head whipped around catching the camera on a tree :D

Yes, I vaguely remember a pic wherein someone was riding the "boring" line rather than the fun line on the way back to the parking lot.

Here it is:

If you're calling the "fun line" the red smudge across the picture?

Boring...

There may not be time for the second tweak, but at least you can get one decent little boot.

Well you see. We did all of those things. He just didn't post the pictures because it would make you all jealous. So we kept it simple.

Edit: actually I think we forgot to do the "mowing the lawn"

But that's ok.

Nice of you to say so, but I do...but that's okay. (?)

You really think it's more interesting to go straight down a hill than hit any type of small launch off the top? Any little thing that get's me air is fun to me. It may not be your style, but I understand. Even without the tweaks...it looks more fun to catch a little air than just go straight down a hill.

I'm not saying I'm some sort of "dirt jumper" because big jumps kind of intimidate me. Small stuff is okay though.

.

That's your erroneous assumption, and couldn't be farther from the truth.

The fact is that you've never ridden that section of trail and you don't know what you're talking (writing) about.

The right line, in red, is much more interesting and offers more launches/terrain changes than the relatively smooth line that the rider is on, as well as being looser and off-camber..

Given the truth that I have in fact never been there, I would have to agree.

The picture is misleading to me.

There's a rumour that he once hosted 60 mountain bikers at his home, giving them room and board and free bike tune-ups. Not to mention free access to his beer kegs.

Terrain in the first half of the video reminds me a lot of Annadel

Was it just me or were none of those guys using clipless?
Only reason I ask is because I often ride terrain like that and ride with clipless and find that its rather difficult at times

5 of 6 were riding clipless. 99.9674632% of the video features people riding clipless pedals (the only guy riding platforms is in blue with a full face).
