Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - A Different Brake Thread

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I'm building my first fixed gear bike and I want to put a cross lever brake on it near the stem. I'm doing this on the cheap and noticed that BMX brake levers are real cheap on ebay. I've already had some stem issues with the Cinelli bars I have as they require a 26.4mm clamp. Does anyone know if BMX brake levers will fit on my bars or not? Right now I'm looking at something like this:

A BMX lever won't fit on most normal road bars without some serious convincing (file, pliers, etc.). Trying to put them on your Cinelli's will be the most infuriating thing ever.

i fit a bmx lever on my bars... it'll take a lot of coercing, and it won't tighten down all the way...
depending on how much you'll need the brake / how confident you are in it not falling off you should be fine.
definitely not on cinellis.

There are oversized 25.4 BMX levers. I'm sure you could get one on a 26.4 bar, with filing/drilling/whatever or simply bending it open. A 22.2 will never fit though.

definitely not a different break thread.
