Now it is:D Yeah, the chaingring is awesome...the teeth barely worn, but I think when it wears out I'll see if I can't find someone to make a new one with bolt holes for a cotterless crank setup.

Yeah, but when it wears out I don't really have any other choice...if I just threw some regular old chainring on there the bicycle gods would smite me.

oh, for sure.

i'm trying to remember where in portland they have a few chainrings like that. it may be the ccc, hanging above the door that leads to their basement (which is pretty rad if anyone ever lets you down there).

This slack black track attack took me aback. If you have the knack you should strip it and repack, install a rear rack and change the saddle to save your sac (or just use smack). That would be mack. Knick knack paddy whack don't ride over a tack, Jack.

That was awesome. I might actually try to have the leather redone on the saddle if the price would be reasonable, but I have no idea how tht goes. Otherwise, it'll probably get a sprung Brooks. Sorry, nothing I'm saying is rhyming.

yup, as a buyer, enquire at your local supplier, acquire a flyer (or other brooks you desire) and join the choir. Match the tire to the prior if you so require and your bike will be in fine attire, sire.

hard to get exact ones, i'm sure--but if you angle some major taylors, maybe you could get that look and feel.

I think you'd be better off getting some cruiser bars and flipping them, but thats just my guess.

Good ol' craigslist. It was a few days after it went up, too, and the guy even delivered to my doorstep from Oregon City.

The ad's still up:

Wald still makes some generic cruiser bars with a similar bend. Yep, just flip 'em.

Monte, our leathersmith has retired so we're not currently accepting saddle work. We are seeking talanted leather smiths who might learn this specialty or someone intetested in buying our leather working equipment...

:(

I'll try to find someone local.

hold onto the bars tight so you don't fall onto the rear wheel

Wingnuts!!!

Much better than other wingnuts I've seen...they've got a free-rotating, toothed washer attached, like track nuts. I'm sure I'll never get them as tight, but this also doesn't seem like the go-so-fast-that-if-you-skid-and-your-rear-wheel-isn't-ungodly-tight-it-will-fall-off sort of bike. Or even the skidding kind of bike, really...I wouldn't put all my trust in those cranks.
