Our local race, the Appalachian Classic, which was scheduled for June 17th, will most likely not take place - no race director. Bummer!!:(

I spend a huge amount of time working on sponsorship for this race, and really, really can't take on the time commitment as a race director... believe me, I have agonized over this!

thats a bummer, sombody will step-up. to most people a race event is more then just a race. its where you get together with friends, familys and all that good stuff. ahh good times at the races

Hey, LowCel -- She's a busy supermom; if she's gonna pull this off, she'll need a co-director. This is your chance to be more than a blood-sucking racer-leach and contribute :D !

I wish I could. Hopefully later in life I will have a little more free time and be able to put on a race or two. Unfortunately right now with working two jobs I am lucky to be able to even find time to train and race. My plate doesn't have any room for any extras right now. I will be happy to join them for a day or two of trail maintenance though. Preferably in the evenings after work. Weekends are generally completely booked for me. :(

I could even be convinced to take off work early for the work days. Shhh. :D

If Salsa were old enough to sign a contract, I'd put him in charge (oh, woe to the would-be racers!).

apclassic9 - If / when you all do trail maintenance let me know. If at all possible I will be there.

If the race will be on, we'll schedule some dates. If it's not going to happen, maybe we can all get together anyway - I'm sure there'll be some winter debris to clear anyway!

Sounds good. Not only will it be a chance for us to get together it will also give us the extra points for trail maintenance. Just one question.....what kinda beer ya drink?? ;)

Heard about this at work this past week. One of the employees where I work is from
Calhoun County and told me about this. She knew my Son and I really enjoyed this
race last year. Like noted, maybe someone will be able to take if over.

Lowcel - glad you mentioned this site, wondered where you had been. Hope no one
minds me jumping aboard.

Someone MAY have volunteered... We'll know for certain after they are informed of the details. I'll keep you all advised.

We found a race director! He's really involved with the cross country track team, so we'll be adding a 5K run to the events.
