Outside my balcony last night. The explosions peaked around midnight, but continued until 1:30-2:00 am. Then started again at 7:00 or 7:30.

Fire and explosives are cool, but fireworks are so ridiculously stupid. I can't stand them.

I like some fireworks occasionally -- on Chinese New Year's Eve, I can deal with them. But if it continues like this every night for two weeks.......

Yeah, I saw some neighbourhood (stray?) cats running for cover last night. They must have been terrified! I have a mirror in my bathroom, Siu -- you think that will be sufficient? And if these fireworks are supposed to scare away bad ghosts and evil spirits, nothing bad is going to happen ever again in China!

Goobers you are supposed to put the mirror like the ones posted on the outside of your front door or on the window sills to make the bad luck reflect and go the opposite direction. Back to where they come from because they are not welcome in your home.

I say you get two baloons, one about 20x the size of the other. fill the small one up with eggwhites/yolks, fill the other with helium, tie them together.

Launch them into the sky....and watch as someone across town gets egg-balooned......launch rockets into Mr. Cloud and mr. Cloud will launch things back!

How did you acquire so many fireworks?Bought them in Mexico the last time I was there. I set them off at the beach so there's no danger of fire. Bunch a box of 'em together and light one common fuse, then run like hell. Move down the beach about a mile or so in case the cops come and set up another box, repeat... :)
