I'm building up a new frame and all is pretty much done.
When I am routing the front derailleur cable through the bottom bracket guide and then to the front derailleur, I notice that the cable is touching the back of the bottom bracket shell.

If I leave it like this and ride, I'm concerned that the cable will cut a groove on the frame (similar to a fellow BF member).

I inspected the shell and there is no hole for the cable to pass through. Is there anything I can do so that it won't damage the frame?

Here's what happened to his frame

Slip a short piece of cable housing liner, a slip-fit piece of heat shrink tubing or even a short piece of cable housing over the cable where it passes the bb shell. The cable will rub inside the tubing and not score the shell.

I would put a dab of grease there from time to time, but otherwise don't worry about it.
