Foo - I seek a definition...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Can someone tell me what a "Foo" is? Do I have one? Do I need one? If I do have one, do I need a wrench to replace it? Will it last the whole biking season? Does it affect my stand over height? Must I lube it?

Spend about a week here and the definition becomes apparent.

Foo is a metasyntactic variable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metasyntactic_variable) used heavily in computer science (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_science) to represent concepts abstractly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abstraction_%28computer_science%29) and can be used to represent any part of a complicated system or idea including the data (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data), variables (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variables), functions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Functions), and commands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commands) just to name a few. Foo is commonly used with the metasyntactic variables bar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bar) and foobar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foobar). The word foo itself has no meaning and is merely a commonly used logical representation that is used much like the letters 'X' and 'Y' in algebra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algebra).
Foo has entered the English language as a neologism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neologism) due to its popularity in describing concepts in computer science and is considered by many to be the canonical (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canonical) example of a metasyntactic variable. It is used extensively in computer programming (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_programming) examples and pseudocode (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudocode).

Foo is a state of mind, a way of being. Foo is an almost zen-like transcendence of all the shiat that is life. Foo is good medicine for a troubled soul.
Foo is relaxation and an escape from anything that troubles you.
Foo isn't a thing, it's a state of being. Zenlike without the tranquility.
EDIT: Dayum vVV, ya beat me to it.
Foo is good medicine for a troubled soul.
Or a deadly poison for a perfectly healthy soul, depending on how you look at it.
