Greetings,

I am parting out one of my bikes and I want to make sure I can properly identify some of the parts before I sell. Note that this bike did not come new with these parts - someone pieced it together before I bought it so I can't be sure that everything is from the same year. I figure that there are plenty of Campy experts out there..... Thanks in advance!

The first photo are the brake levers. Unfortunately I do not have the original gum hoods. I was under the impression that they were super record. Am I correct?

The second photo is the rear derailleur. I know it is a super record, but I do not have the "Pat XX" date stamp on mine. There are 2 stamps inside the cage itself. One says "SL" or "75" - it looks much more like SL though. The other one says "st". Any ideas what year this came from?

The third photo is the front derailleur. Again, I am pretty sure this is super record.

The fourth photo are the shift levers. I don't know anything about these. Any ideas?

The last photo is the seatpost. Also I do not know what model/year this is.

Also, my crankset is also super record. It says 170 Strada followed by an 11 within a square. I take this to mean 1985. Am I correct?

I find shifters in the 1974 catalog that look just like these and they are ID'd as Super Record. And I also find what looks like the same shifters in the 1968 catalog ID'd as Valentino. Probably some detail I am missing. The shift levers are about the most confusing item in the Campagnolo catalog.

I have a set of both the record and gran sport shifters - these don't quite match either set. The tightening screws on my record have wire loops, while the GS have big wheels - this looks like record sans the loops. the cable guides are a little different on my GS, too.

LOL...good point. I was so caught up in looking at the details of the levers themselves that I totally missed the tightening screws.

Yeah at first I thought they were standard issue record as the levers look identical, but the rides just have a slotted bolt and I recognise them as sport/valentino shifters... I guess they never were used for the gran sport group? I am too lazy to look though every catalogue to find out.

the slotted screws were used with the gran sport rd in the 50s and 60s..
i imagine they were also used with the first version (steel) record rd..
maybe even found occasionaly with nuovo/super record gruppos ?
the chromed backing plates/cable stops dates this set to some time in the early 70s
