And gusting up to 50mph today. When I left at 12 something to go on my normal 10 mile route, the first stretch was so windy, I could only go maybe 5mph and it was hard with sand and gravel flying at me. I almost fell over when going perpindicular to the wind across a road. But when I went with the wind, weee. Best ride ever today.
As I got home I noticed the sky was yellow. Now its red.

There is also not a cloud in the sky.

I like that picture EJ, thanks for sharing. Looks kewl.

As far as the weather is concerned I wouldn't know. But the other day here when it got rainy, the sky went dark blue. Like navy blue/grey no cloud in the sky. It was a mass coming from the direction of the ocean, kind of freaky looking. When I drove under it the rain was extremely hard. Windshield wipers couldn't wipe fast enough. Found myself drifting over a lane on the freeway.

Seriously crazy sky around Dallas. Thanks for the pic, looks much the same here. Gray, to blue, to yellow to red, and it's not the sunset doing it either. We actually lost power at my apartment for several hours this afternoon, I'm guessing the wind took a line or transformer out somewhere.

same way up here, reddish pink sky.
I was out looking for Woody Guthrie singing about
the dustbowl.

very harsh breathing, I would not recommend riding in this crap.

Id rather ride in 30mph+ winds than regular. What a ride.

EJ - that is a really weird colored sky - I hope a tornado didn't follow.

In WV, we get these unbelieveable blue skies during the day, and toward evening, before twilight, everything gets a sepia tone to it if it's going to rain later. Also weird, but beautiful, and not quite as threatening as you picture looks!

No bad weather in the area for us, in fact not a cloud in the sky even if they could have been seen. Just the dust storm and high winds blowing things around. I think the closest rain was a state or two to the north east of us already and moving out of town. All this wind and dust was on the back side of the major line of storms that pretty much skipped over the DFW area last night and is currently causing trouble further east.

We were out running around yesterday afternoon and were amazed by the changes in the air. At one point the skies were grey when we entered a store. When we left 20-30 minutes later, they were red, and the sun was a cool blue color. The power outages were interesting, too. PetSmart on Greenville Ave had no power, but stores further down the block did have power. The Kroger at Greenville & Mockingbird also had no power. Traffic lights were also out in various places: LBJ & The Tollway and Greenville Ave & Southwestern were two we had to negotiate.
