Road Cycling - Made my decision...my first new bike thread.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Bianchi Vigorelli
- Full Ultegra Components
- Mavic Cosmos Wheelset
- Much better looking than the Imola (at least to me) and worth the $200 difference to upgrade from 105 to Ultegra and the Cosmos wheels.
- I can't wait to start riding!
:D I'm happy.

Nice looking bike. Deffinetly worth that extra $200! I like the steel frame and the wheels a lot better then the first one you were looking at and Ultegra is a worthwhile upgrade. Good choice!
(still an ugly seat though....what is with Bianchi and that saddle?)

Thanks! I know what you mean abou the seat...I'll see how comfortable it is and if its not, it's going away quickly.

Thank you, especially since your posts about your Giro turned me on to supergo.com!

:) I think this bike will have real ultimate power. ;)
Cool bike. Makes my non-sloping heart go faster. You will like the Ultegra gruppo.
Bianchi's seem to be popular here, isn't it?

Yep, you need to call the actual store and talk to the manager, Jim. He'll hook you up. Last I knew though, they had an Imola in 59 and the Giro in 49 and 51. I don't know if they have any more Vigorelli's, but I know they don't have any in 59 and I think I got the last 57.
I had to pay $40 for shipping and $50 for assembly and packing, but since I'm outside of CA, there was no tax.

damn, i didn't know there was an option to assemble the bike. although i think i did quite well for my 1st time putting together a dealer-ready bike.

Well, they told me that in order for me to get the warranty, they would have to assemble the bike. I actually asked them if they could just ship it and I'd put it together. They said they would, but that I would not have a warranty. You might want to check with them about that.

i guess i'd better not break it then. i'll check into it. i'm not terribly worried though. i've never had to make good on a warranty on anything <knock on wood>. broken things usually mean i get to buy a new one :)

The Prodigy is a nice bike, that's too bad.
Yes their prices are really nice...they also gave me a little bit of a discount on the Vigorelli since when I first called, I asked for the Giro, which they were out of.
Jim said he would give me the Imola for the same price which cut off $30. Then, when I stepped up the Vigorelli, they still gave me the $30 off. So, I got the Vigorelli for $1068...then like I said, shipping and assembly came to $90 and I guess they also charged me $10 for a box. There was no tax, so delivered, I got the Vigorelli for $1168. Not a bad deal for an Ultegra bike with a Mavic wheelset. :)
I've never ordered from Supergo before, but I'm pretty impressed with their customer service. I can't wait to start riding again.
