Pay attention to those stop signs, specially the first one out of Woodland. Cops are pulling people over for running them. Apparently it's higher priority then catching speeders, people who like to buz and lay on the horn. :rolleyes:

Yep, the local constabulary was there... We came, we saw, we stopped (or at least to below walking pace.) I actually unclipped and put my foot down briefly.

I did a track stand using a very advanced method of keeping only my middle finger on my brakes. :D

They were out in force this last Saturday on Canada. I was cut off at least twice on my ride by SUVs, and they focus on busting the cyclists? Insane.

More like laziness and give an impression they are doing something. :rolleyes:
I think they are there because a lot of local residents *****ed about it. Probably the same ones who blow pass riders only with few inches to spare going over the speed limit.

The cops bust anyone who runs the stop sign, including SUVs. I suspect that they are more interested in cars, but they're not going to ignore bicyclists that blast through the stop signs without looking.

The San Mateo Sherrifs periodically run stop sign enforcement programs specifically aimed at cyclists. Typically at the Alpine/Portola stop sign, and the one at Canada and Jefferson.

They ticketed me on the southern-most Canada stop before woodside about 6 weeks ago. $85. Steep!

+1 on that statement. They do this to people in San Jose on the city streets.

They'll get you in Davis, too. There's one cop on a motorcycle, in particular, who likes to hide in the bushes or off to the side...
