My RS Jett fork squeaks when compressed. It has seen many miles, lots of mud, and no maintanence other than a wipe down. (I didn't think elastomer forks really needed much attention.) So I was wondering if I could fix the squeak by lubing it with something like chain lube or perhaps grease would be better?

I would just try first...
It should'not damage anything...
You know how some cars squeek on little bumbps, speed breakers... That's old deteoriated rubber bushinngs. If a customer can not afford new one, spraying wd40 or "white lube" will help for a while...
Good luck.

If the seals are dry and squeaking I'd try a silicone based lube. I've read where a petroleum based lube will deteriorate the seals.
It may be something internal squeaking also. In which case it won't help anyway.

For the Judy's I know that RS says to use a Teflon based lube (I used my Finish Line), but I guess the Judy's and the Jetts are quite a bit different

I also have a Judy, and it started making noises yesterday when compressed. Didn’t see any big drops or anything like that. It’s a first season for this fork and has maybe 5-6 hours on it. What’s the deal here?
Rock Shox reccomended when the Jett was in production to use "Judy Butter" on the elastomers. If your fork is squeaking it is more than likely due to the bushings being dried up and worn out. There are no replacement parts available for them. Besides you can get a far superior fork than your current Jett for less than $100 nowadays.
