What a terrific feeling the day after a long ride.

The body feels used but not abused.

The night's rest from a taxing day is as good as it gets.

The scales show a slight reduction in weight.

A recovery ride is as easy and slow as you prefer.

And counting calories?? Only to make sure you're eating enough to replenish all you've burned the day before!!

Ahhhhh.........another reason to ride!!!! It's all good.

When I used to run, and we had some 20+ mile runs (building up to a marathon maybe), the next day would be quite interesting. I could not get enough food. I would have a very deep hunger and could eat 5 or 6 meals. Weight was never a problem in those days. In fact sometimes I would get comments about how emaciated I looked. Not anymore!

I am not sure if there is a 'technical' term for the feeling, but I agree the day after a good ride makes you feel like you want to do it again.....but not the day after.

I'm still waiting to experience this feeling this year:(
Maybe as soon as the ice covering the world outside my door melts!

Congratulations, JPPE, and +1 to all of the above. Beverly, we, too, have a nice thick coating of oobleck on the ground. :( :(
