nice site, i should have found this place before i purchased my bike...anyways...

I bought a specialized hardrock comp last summer...and its just been hanging in the garage, i rode it today, and realized how uncomfortable the seat is, anyone notice how the seat hurts your butt?

whats a good replacement?

Keep riding, it'll stop hurting after a ride or 2. Any seat is going to hurt at first if you havn't been on it in some time.

Give it a few more rides...

You ride long and hard enough you'll forget it hurts. :D

A few more rides usually helps out... I changed out the Body Geometry seat on my '03 Stumpjumper FSRxc with the WTB Laser V Stealth Ti (Wilderness Trail Bikes) and what a difference... I wish I would have done it first thing and I wouldn't have had to deal with that "just get used to it and after a few rides it will get better" approach... just my 2.

I forget about the ass pain after a few miles into the ride.

That's what you get when you get a saddle that is made out of hard rock.:p:D
Seriously though all you have to do is get accustumed to the seat.

Use "acclimation" as a excuse to ride more. :D

Plus, the harder you ride, the less time you spend sitting.

Muahahaha...I feel devious. He came here with one simple question and I am driving him to the brink of addiction...muahaha :roflmao:

You might take a look at the Specialized Telluride seats. Mine is pretty comfortable. Have you considered a suspension seat post? They can really take the edge off. Plus, you can find them online for fairly reasonable prices. Whatever route you take ie. new seat etc. a couple of rides should work it out for you.
