Hey,

Im trying to make a new ringtone for my phone by sending over an mp3 from my computer via bluetooth. I can play the mp3 on my phone, but when i try to set it as the ringtone, it says "not allowed by activation key"... Anyone know what the hell this means?

If it helps, my phone is a Nokia 6275i. and my number is 911.

3rd post. Seems like a firmware update is needed.

Does that phone have one of those access locks? Check the manual - you may have to enter a code somewhere. The factory defaults are usually 0000.

My 6255i was doing about the same thing. I had to "mod" it with a program I d/l'd somewhere(no idea where now) to make it work with mp3's. It would play mp3's, but not allow then to be used as ringtones. There was a firmware setting that told it what sound formats were allowed for ringtones. I set it to "all" and then it worked fine with mp3's.
