Pacific Northwest - Seattle Bike show March 10 - 11, 2007

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's just around the corner
I always look forward to the guest speakers. This year is Frankie Andreau who will be sharing insights on the Tour de France.

So, who else is going?

I'm planning on making it out for one of the days. I have to say that I wish that there were more bike manufacturers at the expo instead of vendors such as "University Bookstore".

I'll be volunteering at the demo ride area. Free coffee and a T-shirt!

I agree, there were very few Mfgs last year and it looks like pretty much the same this year. We pretty much rely on the LBS to bring the goods.
There always a good showing of tandems and that's my goal for this summer.

I'll see you there then, as I always like to test the bikes they have.

I'll be there on Sunday, in the morning. Can't go Saturday, as I have to work that evening. But I can spend a good amount of time there on Sunday...

I can't wait to drool over the vintage show again.
Definitely make a point to see the trials riders if you go.

Due to an accident that totalled my bike I've been out of biking since late 2005. I just found out about the expo today, but if there are not going to be that many bikes there maybe it's not worth going. Better going to an LBS to look at bikes?

You can go to the LBS any day of the week. Bike Expo is just today and Sunday! Go to the Bike Expo, or we will have to be mean to you. Besides, how else can you meet some of your fellow BF members in the flesh otherwise?

I am planning on heading out there tomorrow - if anyone has gone, care to fill me in on anything particuarly interesting? Perhaps some Look bikes?

marqueemoon, you were right about the trials riders. I love that stuff, I just wish I could do it.
Had a great day there, even though I did not find any BF members :( --well, except for Pac-Mule!

I had a great day there too. Frankie andreau did an hour long slide show behind the scenes of the Tour de France and his early days...and I left with another autographed jersey:) . I picked up a new pair of road shoes, half price and test rode the Specialized Roubaix, wonderful bike. The guys at the Orbea booth had to mop up my drool after I left my dream bike...the ORCA.

I went today for a quick look - Chemistry is killing me this week (exam on Tuesday, lab practical on Wednesday, and a paper on Polonium 210 on Thursday) - so I didn't have a lot of time to look around or even view any of the presentations. My girlfriend and I were able to drool at that very same Orca mentioned above (that frame has been on her post graduation wishlist since it was first unveiled last year), and I was pretty excited to see a few other booths who were sporting a BMC Pro Machine, a Parlee Cycles, and what I guess was Bradley McGee's Lapierre used in last year's TDF. FSA's ceramic exhibit was also equally impressive.
Hopefully the expo will expand a bit and attract more manufacturers, although it was nice to see a presence from Orbea and Moots.

My husband had me leave my 'car' bike at home just in case I bought one at the Expo! I was thinking about the Rivendell Bleriot...or perhaps one of the Rodriguez travel bikes...ahhhh....
Fortunately I came to my senses, and made do with a few small items like a Topeak bag, and a little thumper/massager from the Tiger Tail people.
It's so nice to wander around a building like that and know that all of those people are just as mad about their bikes as you are :D .

I wound up pouring New Belgiums in the beergarden sunday afternoon, if anyone had a pint.

I was there on Saturday, pretty much checked every booth out too. My friend and I almost did goldsprints, but I was to wussy. Yea, the orbea booth was cool, but I forget which booth it was that had all the freakin' nice TT bikes. I kept picking up all the bikes to see how ultralight they were.
