Is it me or does the Best Picture award nominees look weaker and weaker every year?

the academy awards are on?
I'm watching it because i am attracted to peculiarity.
I like down to earth celebrities who aren't so full of themselves, and don't act all "hollywood." Like Ediie Murphy or Angelina Jolie.

My wife is making me watch them too. I wish everyone would just say "Thank you" and get off the stage.
It is so hyped up. And those celebs thing "oh Im a celebrity, I make a world of a difference with all my care about the economy and environment." Those sanctimonious people, arg. Well maybe some are devout, but you never know.

Ellen DeGeneres is as good a host as I've seen for these things. As far as the best pic nominees being weak as someone said, Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed were pretty strong flicks.

What's all this fuss about the AA? I mean, AA has helped a lot of people kick their alcohol dependence and get their lives back on track. Just imagine the good that this organization has done, taking drunks at the lowest ebb of their lives, wretching an puking and all, and turing them into useful . . . . What's that? You don't mean Alcoholics Anonymous? You mean the Academy Awards? Ohhhh. Well, that's different.
Never mind.
(With apologies to Emily Latella, Gilda Radner, and the entire SNL crew from back when they mattered.)

Meh. At least they took media attention off Anna Nicole for awhile. Still boring and pointless crap, IMO, but different crap.
I spent the evening catching up on some of the older episodes of the Sopranos instead...
