I was there early (alot of the team trucks hadn't come yet), so I get to see alot of the bikes up close with no one around but the mechanics.

Enjoy!

That's a crazy "O Symetric" chainring up there. Sweet shots.

Who'd have thought that Bontrager and Shimano would be the top two wheels in that little sample?

Great pics--I'm so jealous. Weather and a conference have kept me off the bike, and the roads suck. :(

Thanks, I wish I had better pics of the actual race action. They all look like blurred rainbows.

Shimano had a tent in the fair. I like the look of their tubeless Dura-ace rim.

And here's bigger shot of that crazy chainring:

Why does Leipheimer and Basso have Ultegra seat posts? Are there not Dura-Ace posts? Seems like they would have the best....

Great pics! I love the "Basso" and the "Leipheimer" name badges on the Trek frames. Very cool.

What team is sponsored by Look? I would of grabbed one of those bikes and rode it like I stole it!!!!!

Great Pics! I have really gotten spoiled by these pics on BF. Do you think we should sponsor a photographer to travel the UCI circuit this year? :D

Man I would love one of those Mechanic trucks. Imagine pulling up to your local races with that? That would be the extreme poseur.

There's not weight difference between the ultegra seatpost and the dura-ace one. And even if they went to a carbon seatpost, best case scenario, they'd save 30-40 grams. I've heard they run a Shimano seatpost so that Shimano has their name on as many components as possible.

What about the Ultegra FD?

What about the Ultegra FD?

I'm pretty sure those Q-Rings require a triple sized FD.

:D

Btw, because there weren't any people around at that time, the mechanics actually let me touch the bikes, spin the cranks, etc. short of riding the bike.:(

Later on the "pit" area was so crowded, they started to red-tape the area off.

I am guessing those seatposts are just for clamping in the work stand

Never used butter during sex, so I wouldn't know. But the Cervelo tent was passing around (literally) a carbon soloist(?) sl frame for people to hold around, and that frame was really light.

There is no current DA road group seat post made by Shimano. There may be one listed in the Track components but the word on the street is that they have been out of production for a while and there are none in stock. And has been said it isn't much if any lighter...if you have to add weight to the bike to get it to make the UCI limit the seatpost is a fine place to do it.

Shimano makes a Dura-Ace triple FD.

Those aren't Q-Rings. And Q-Rings work with standard double FD's.

One last note:

You can actually see how quick the weather changed in those shots. It was really sunny and bright in the morning, then it actually showered for a bit.
