Foo - Reputation of PF!?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I can't understand for the life of me............I have tried selling a NIB (new in box) Pedal Force QS2 55 cm frame and have lots of questions and folks looking very interested and saying it is exactly what they want and then they never correspond again. The frame is new at PF $650 plus another $30 shipping. I have mine for $450 free shipping and I am including a full carbon Pedal Force seat post for free that is another $60 value.
My second time on E-Bay with 7 lookers and no bidders. What the hell are they looking at. Are they folks here that bought the massive RS frame order and looking to sell their's off and wondering what they may go for? I just don't get such a good deal I offer with alot of bites and questions then they disappear and never to be heard of.
This was more a rant than a question of PF's reputation I guess. Maybe people know something of PF I don't. I rode a PF QS2 for several months and it was the best bike I had. I just decided to go Ti for increased stiffness and now want to sell the new QS2 frame and give someone a deal while I unload something sitting in my dining room in a box!
I had a person buy it through PayPal then send me a e-mail that it was wrong size after looking harder. I refunded their money minus the PayPal fee of course......just the kind of guy I am. I should have said hell no you bought it and had days to think about it so your stuck with it. Damn, I don't know. I am giving the dman thing away at $450. I don't know what to do.
Oh well, thanks for listening and I feel better as I wrap this up.

If I wasn't nearly dead broke right nw, I'd take you up on it....it will be a while until I can afford something like that...the Soma project has proven to be a MASSIVE wallet drain :(

No problem...........yeah it is weird. Alot of watchers on E-Bay but not one single bid but some questions of course.
It is not like I am trying to get almost what I paid for it. I am cutting my loss by the tune of $250 to $300or however one may choose to view it. I guess that is what to expect. Anyone else trying to sell a PF having the same kind of troubles?

Have you tried the for-sale sub-forum? You've got the requisite 'red star.' Or maybe posting this thread out in the roadie forum? You might get some Pedal Force derision, but might bump into someone who ignores the bluster on that sub-forum and be interested in it....
[edit... never mind my suggestion of the For Sale forum... just saw your sig link.... :o )

I think it's a perceptual issue, M! People can't see how their initial sale price can be so low compared to the big brands and presume schlocky merchandise when all they need to realize is that it's built with CHEAP labor! CF is still a bling crowd thing, primarily and to a lot of these folk 9not all, but a lot!), cheaper = lower quality, inherently. I can't say anything one way or another re PF's quality as I've never ridden one.;)

I have had it listed there for a while now and sold off the components I had on the PF. I did not want to part it out but did from demand of BF members wanting just the components. I guess it goes that way sometimes. I just hate for a nice frame to sit there in a box that I no longer need.

- the PF CF frame (RS) i got in the group buy was an *excellent* deal and is a quality product (no sloppy manufacturing details whatsoever)... i imagine the QS2 is as well...
- i hope you find a good home for the frame... alas, it is not in my size...

It is nice and rides well. I had another QS2 that I rode for 1000 miles and it was the best to date and really absorbs road shock a little better than my current Ti. But I built up the Ti to have a stiffer frame as compared.
Well hopefully one day someone will come along wanting a great deal for a build.

quite honestly, you are finding out firsthand the value of a grey market product...

I'm sure the PF is a good frame, good deal, etc. The resale value would be low because it doesn't have a strong brand name (yet?).
I found this out the hard way when dealing with custom-made guitar. I've seen top-of-the line guitar that cost $6000 to make only to be resold for $1000, because it's not a famous brand.
