Foo - How many times per day do you wash your hands?

Hygiene survey.

As many times as I need to to be quite honest. If that is once or 20 I guess that is what I do.

Alot, There are a ton of unhealthy people in my office so I don't want to get sick from them.

I voted 9+. If I leave my desk I use hand sanitizer when I return (which I count as washing).

I wouldn't say that mine are dirty but I just want to keep them germ-free :)

Reminds me of the old Harvard/Yale (or Army/Navy, or any two rivalries du jour) joke:

A Harvard fan & a Yale fan are standing side by side at the urinals in the Men's Room at the big game. Upon finishing his business, the Yale man zips up and proceeds towards the exit. I am easily into double figures.

When I cook anything at home have always been in the habit of if you touch raw meat etc wash your hands.
Before I eat I wash my hands, I eat 6 times day so I wash my hands everytime.

Bathroom trips wash my hands.

Soon adds up to double figures easily.

Before/after every meal and after every trip to the bathroom, and whenever else they need it. Easily a dozen times a day I would think.

Depends on how often I use the restroom, I suppose.

I don't worry too much about germs, but the nasty chemicals I use in the lab encourage pretty regular hand washing.

+1. We've also got a lot of immune-compromised and otherwise unhealthy clients where I work. I don't want to get sick and I sure don't want to get anyone HIV+ sick, either.

I've heard the army/navy and harvard/yale one before, but still funny.

Usually everytime I go to the bathroom unless I'm in a rush I wash, plus before lunch at work and before preparing dinner at home.

I've gotten in the habit of doing it quite a bit. This habit spawned at work, because I had the feeling of cutting fluid or oil in general on my hands. So I wash my hands probably 3x a day at work alone. Plus once before lunch

I try to wash my hands at least once every three days (including showers). :lol:

I wash my hands when they need it (after the bathroom, before eating, when they're dirty, etc.) If I can't actually wash them, I use the hand sanitizer.

That doesn't surprise me. I've seen so many guys run out of the public bathroom after doing their business without washing their hands only to see them right outside holding their girlfriend's/ wife's hand, touching her face, etc. It's disgusting. I wonder what would happen if I dropped the dime on the guy.

Bathroom count for me. I am one of the healthiest people (mnaybe sick once a year) I know and have eaten and been in some disgusting places. The odd time throw in a wash if I am having a busy day. I usually getup to 5-7 tops.

I think this is, like a lot of medication, one thing where people worry to much. There are scarier things out there.

I believe this is due to your immune system being challenged by not washing. It has to fight off the 'nasties' and you build up a resistance. Those with 'good hygene' practices don't tax their immune system, therefore when some little bug comes along they get compromised.

I seldom get sick either, and I've learned how to not pee on my fingers. :D

I betcha I could give ya a hint. I am not a believer in the clean being clean. Your body builds up natural defences. If you spend your whole time protecting your body from being able to do its job, when one little bug gets through you get sick.
